Report of a COVID-19 Infection: Kei Inoo, Hey! Say! JUMP, Johnny & Associates
We announce that Kei Inoo, a Hey! Say! JUMP artist of Johnny & Associates, was confirmed to have contracted the COVID-19 coronavirus.
Since the evening of August 6, Inoo has felt malaise and has experienced only the mild symptoms of a cold. We require our artists to undergo an antibody test, which Inoo underwent on August 5, and tested negative. He received a follow-up observation while carefully considering the possibility of being infected. Subsequently, he underwent a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test as a precautionary measure. On August 12, he tested positive. Because it was late in the evening, we decided to wait for the instructions of the health center on the following day before reporting this information. As instructed by the health center, Inoo will stay at home and will receive a follow-up observation.
Upon learning that Inoo contracted COVID-19, all members of Hey! Say! JUMP and their managers underwent a PCR test today and tested negative. They have not had close contact with Inoo.
Based on the health center’s instructions, we investigated whether anyone in the company had had close contact with Inoo. None of the artists or employees of Johnny & Associates were found to have had close contact with the infected artist. Inoo has not entered the Johnny & Associates building or any related facilities since his symptoms occurred. Therefore, the activities of other artists and the business activities of Johnny & Associates will continue as usual, while taking appropriate measures to prevent infection.
However, if anyone who has had close contact with the infected artist is identified, beyond the people involved with Jonny’s Group, we will ensure that they will be informed of the situation and be advised to follow the instructions of the health center.
Johnny & Associates will endeavor to prevent infections and ensure the safety of you, the people who kindly support us, our artists and our employees by continuing the measures that we are currently taking, such as wearing masks, hand-washing and the use of alcohol disinfectants, teleworking, staggering work hours and avoiding closed places.
We sincerely apologize for any concern this may have caused.
Your understanding is appreciated.
